Your reading stays on your device
The app does not require an account. Searches, reading lists, text-size preferences and downloaded reading editions are stored or processed on your device. The app does not send your search terms, bookmarks or reading history to us. It contains no advertising or analytics SDKs and does not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone or location.
Connections for updates
The app connects over HTTPS to www.claudiusengland.com to check for reviewed constitutional updates and to download editions you select. These connections necessarily send an IP address and basic connection information. Our hosting provider may retain standard server access and error logs, such as IP address, request time, requested URL and response status, for security, abuse prevention and service reliability. We do not use these logs to build advertising profiles, infer your location or track your reading across apps. Hosting providers process connection information on our behalf.
Bundled reading material remains available offline. No personal account identifier is included in update requests.
Purchases, support and outside links
Apple or Google handles your one-time app purchase under its own privacy policy. The app does not receive your payment card details. If you email support, we receive the email address and information you choose to include and use them to respond to your request. Do not send sensitive legal documents or personal case details.
Official sources and other external links open outside the app. Those websites have their own privacy practices.
Retention and your choices
Local reading data stays on your device until you remove it or remove the app's data. Device backups may retain a copy under your device and backup settings. Technical logs and support correspondence are retained only as needed for the purposes described above, applicable legal obligations and the hosting provider's log lifecycle. We do not sell personal information.
You may request access, correction or deletion of information you have sent us by contacting support@claudiusengland.com. We cannot retrieve local bookmarks or searches from your device. Include only the information needed to identify your support request.
Children and policy changes
The app is a general educational reference and does not solicit personal information from children. Contact us if a child has sent personal information to support so we can address it. Material changes to this policy will be posted here with an updated effective date.
